The finished nursery

This is Logan's new nursery, i have sewn up the crib sheet and change table cover, made a diaper bag to hang over the edge and made the curtains. I think it came together pretty nicely.

The Gar Gar Truck

My son is very persistant...and i'm pretty sure he get's it from me!
Logan heard a Garbage truck this morning, so we had to go look out the window and there in the Tim Hortons parking lot was the truck lifting up and dumping the bin, we kept watching until the truck drove away. Then all we kept hearing then was "gar gar" "gar gar" "gar gar" so i would go over to the window and show him "the truck is all finished here now and has gone on to do other jobs" a few minutes later "gar gar" "the truck is all done here but we will see it in a few more days again" "gar gar" and so on. Even when we went out for the day and pulled up to our house again he pointed at the parking lot and said "gar gar" "your right the truck was there this morning but it's all gone right now" I think this garbage truck was the highlight to his day! I think it's amazing the things that just capture him!
Whenver we read the book "Huge Machines" Logan points to the picture of the Semi Truck and says "bu" or bus and i then have to say "no that's a big truck!" "bu" "no that's a semi truck like daddy drives" then Logan shakes his head and says "bu" again...i'm not sure if he's shaking his head to say "hey mom! it's a bus!" or "no it's not a bus" we can really do this for 5 minutes, back and forth "bu" "no that's a big truck, see it's carrying pigs!" "bu" "that's a big truck!" He just doesn't give up :)

Loggy's Long Hair

Logan will be 17 months next week and we have never cut his hair! (i have secretly trimmed it a few times in the front to keep it out of his eyes though) I personally don't like his hair how it is, i would love for it to be short and managable. It really seems either you love it or you don't.

It is very important though to Dusitn that Logan keep his long hair till he is at least 2 years old, i really have no idea why, but i feel if something is this important to him, even though i think it's stupid i should carry through supporting it because if i felt strongly about something i would want him to be there for me.

I think around Christmas time will be enough of this long hair though, i want to keep those cute little blonde curls in the back when they get chopped off!

A cute new nursery in the works!

When i was getting Logan's nursery ready before he was born we didn't have a lot of money to spend and i didn't really care if not everything matches, i did have an underwater/nemo theme in mind. Since i have been making crib bedding sets, and curtains for people...and they are always so cute and hard to give away :) I have decided to make one for our nursery with the money i make sewing!

I ordered tons of this fabric! I love the colors and the simple design, if we have a girl next i think it would work okay too. I plan to make a crib sheet, a front pannel for our crib skirt (don't really need the others...more work for nothing, and then you just attach the one with double sided tape) curtains to cover the ugly black out ones and a cover for the change table all with chocolate brown accents.

I have ordered these little cards! So cute, the are the numbers one through ten with little drawings of animals and such for each number. I will get some wire and clips to hang them above the crib.

With my next sale i plan to buy this print to put in a frame we already have and put it above the dresser.

Since the dresser in the nursery is pretty plain i was thining of buying some number vinyl decals like these http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=30008609 to put on it!
I can't wait to get it all together and will post pictures when it all comes together in the next month.

I love being Logan's mommy!

I wanted to start a family blog to write about things that happen day to day as our family growns and Logan learns more and more! A while ago i started a journal for Logan on the day we found out he was coming and wrote to him all through out my pregnancy and every few weeks as he get's older! I plan to show it to him when he's older or maybe even him and his wife when they are expecting.

In the past few weeks i've noticed a huge change in his words, he's using more and knows some words that i didn't even realize he did! His new thing is putting his own diaper in the garbage after he is changed. He says "dirty" and "garbage" and " bum bum" and wants to get down and even knows where the garbages are in the house!! I think it's pretty amazing....not go great though when he trys to throw away the cloth diapers!

He loves lawn mowers and buses, and bikes....Dustin says some of the words he says like "elmo" and "mom" or even "nemo" all sound the same, but i can forsure tell the difference between them! Whenever he hears a lawn mower outside or a motercyle he runs to the window to check it out and just says the word over and over! His new one is buses though, he points at school and city buses when we are driving and says "buu".

It's really amazing watching him grow! and i just hope i can teach him to be a great person, and also not be so shy like me :) i know he's alreay getting there because one day out for a walk he had to wave at everyone in all the cars driving by us!
